The Vivo brand entered Romania in February 2021, which can only make us happy: the competition pushes the entire segment forward. We are familiar with this company, between the fact that they sponsored the World Cup in 2018, that they launched gimbal phones (Vivo X50) and they have a series of iQOO gaming phones that stole our eyes. While we wait for those models to arrive, we tested a Vivo Y70.
This is a midrange phone with an AMOLED screen that got Android 11 out of the box and comes with a fast-charging battery. Vivo has big plans for its expansion in 2021, especially after finishing 2021 in 5th place among the top smartphone manufacturers, surpassing even Huawei in the 4th quarter, according to IDC.
We took the Vivo Y20s and Vivo Y70 out of the box, and now it's time to review the latter. It is a midrange phone with a Snapdragon 665 processor, 8 GB of RAM and a triple camera. It debuted internationally in October and the recommended price in Europe is 270 euros.
I put it to work and noticed, among other things, that it insists on having gaming functions, although it is not advertised as a gaming phone. Interesting... Other findings and impressions from the review.
