The deadline for Samsung Cloud is approaching
Samsung Cloud will no longer allow you to store photos and files. The deadline for migration files are approaching for many Samsung customers.
Samsung Cloud allows users to store a series of data from the device, releasing the local storage for applications. But now the company reduces the service. Thus, withdraw the possibility of storing anything other than contacts, articles from the calendar and notes.
The termination process on stages was divided into two flows, based on the geographical location of the users.Group 1 members covering the UK, USA, Australia and much of Europe, have until the end of the day to use an automatic OneDrive migration tool.
Initially Samsung had set a deadline on March 31 for group 1 members. However, he decided to offer users for another three months to make the necessary arrangements. However, there is no indication that this term will provide another extension.
Group 1 members should have already received a notification requesting the automatic OneDrive Migration Process.Once activated, users will be able to transfer all Samsung Cloud files to OneDrive and be able to expand their account capacity from 5 GB to 20 GB.
The extended OneDrive storage offer will expire after one year
After that, users must either pay to increase their storage capacity in the cloud, or transfer data to an external hard drive, portable SSD or other cloud backup service.
If the deadline is not respected this evening, group 1 will have until September 30 to manually download Samsung Cloud data on their device or computer. Also users will not be able to claim additional OneDrive capacity. After this term all Samsung Cloud data will be deleted directly and will no longer be recovered.
Samsung customers falling in group 2 covers much of Asia, Africa and the Middle East. These users have received a little longer to prepare. They have until September 30 to move to OneDrive and by November 29 to perform a manual download.
