At the beginning of April, Telekom Romania announced the launch of the Telekom Smart TV Stick service. We also tested it and discovered the simplest and most complete digital experience offered by an operator in Romania.
The concept behind Telekom Smart TV Stick is a simple one - Telekom Romania wanted to offer a cheap television service, which does not require the installation of complex equipment or which depends on the coverage of the actual television service. Telekom Smart TV Stick depends only on a monthly subscription worth 14.9 lei per month (or 24.8 lei per month for the multi-channel subscription) and a WiFi connection.
After ordering the Smart TV Stick service, you get access to the TV channels in the Telekom TV application on your phone, tablet or laptop, but also a Google Chromecast, ie a small device that plugs into the HDMI port of any TV.
The whole process is very simple. Take the device out of the box, connect it to the TV and to a power source, and follow the steps on the screen. Install the Google Home app, set up your network quickly, and you're ready to watch your favorite programs. The whole process takes 3 minutes, and once completed, you can enter the Telekom TV application, you can select the channel you want to watch and then click on the button in the upper right corner. The service is also good for those who have television, but do not have smart TV. The Chromecast can also be used to watch Netflix, HBO Go or other video streaming platforms. You can also subscribe to the service if you already have a Smart TV, but you want low-cost, hassle-free TV services - you probably won't need a Chromecast to stream Telekom TV content to your TV. , but you won't even have to punch holes in the walls for a few minutes to watch the weekly news.
