Analysts at JD Power have released a report on the most troubling issues reported by new car owners in the first three months of purchase, with 100 vehicles included in the study.
According to the analysis, 25% of the problems are related to the infotainment system, the main dissatisfaction of customers being the connection of the phone via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. Analysts say the problems seem to be exacerbated by the growing popularity of wireless systems.
"Customers want wireless connectivity, and the industry has reacted. However, this has created a technological challenge for both automakers and software developers. Usually the producers are to blame for the customers, but it is a shared fault. But customers don't care, they want the phone and the car to communicate with each other , ” explained one of the JD Power analysts.
The American study is in its 35th edition in 2021, based on answers to 223 questions from over 110,000 people.
"Customers are caught in the middle when phones and cars do not connect properly. There are many examples of smartphones that do not connect properly to new vehicles, " said analysts.
