When we first heard about the Samsung Galaxy S22, reports at the time indicated that charging speed might be the biggest letdown of this generation of phones. But a new leak shows us that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will offer fast charging at 45W, which is the most powerful fast-charging technology of the Korean manufacturer.
According to the same rumor, the new flagship would be equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, just like its predecessor. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will be able to be charged up to 70% in just 35 minutes and even if these numbers are extremely good, they do not compare to the results obtained by Chinese manufacturers such as Xiaomi or realme that offer very fast charging, up to 100W.
Galaxy S22 Ultra combines the best features of the last two generations
This translates into little to no evolution when it comes to the battery of the new Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, which uses the battery from the S21 Ultra and fast charging from 2020's S20 Ultra. So, with a 5,000mAh battery that offers fast charging at 45W, the manufacturer is not offering a huge upgrade in this area, but rather bringing together its best technologies so far in the same terminal.
However, it would seem that only the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will have these battery specifications, so the other models in its generation will likely have the same 25W limited charging of the current generation S21. This thing should change with the generation after the S22, otherwise the manufacturer risks being left behind, overtaken by smaller but braver competitors.
