Samsung is again at the center of a scandal after a Korean phone exploded in a woman's car and caused a fire that destroyed the entire car, but things are more serious than that. According to the US media, a woman had a Samsung Galaxt S4 and a Samsung Galaxy S8 in her car, one of them exploded while she was driving, the flames generated by the battery most likely igniting the other phone as well.
Samsung was notified about the problem and of course claims that it produces the best quality phones, as it also said when the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 exploded almost everywhere, the Koreans saying that the problem is not theirs. Now Samsung supports two Samsung Galaxt S4 phones and a Samsung Galaxy S8, but the first one is very old, and is most likely the source of this incident, if the battery was not replaced with an original, newer one.
Samsung: A Phone EXPLODED and SET A CAR ON FIRE
Samsung intends to do its own investigation into this problem, but the fire department confirmed the story of the woman who claims that the fire started from one of the two mobile phones while driving. Basically, the fact that the fire started while she was driving is the biggest problem of all, and Samsung should be aware of this, because the woman could have caused a serious accident if she had really hoped.
“I was driving down Evergreen. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a spark. Samsung Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S8. I thought I was going to die when I saw the sparks and the fire. It happened quickly. It just went up in flames. People were telling me to get away from the car. What if I was on the highway stuck in traffic and couldn't get out?"
Samsung seemed to have distanced itself sufficiently from these problems that its phones have had over time, but here it is not escaping new incidents that call into question the quality of its phones. I'm pretty sure that Samsung will blame that Samsung Galaxy S4 phone for the incident, and that's because it's also a very old phone, which has far exceeded its useful life, and that's how the scandal will end.
