We live in a world where technology is of utmost importance, and handwriting has been replaced almost entirely by keys and swipes, Smart Pen from NEWYES wants to combine the two worlds, that of the traditional with that of the digital .
In the context in which the digitization and editing of handwritten documents is relatively easy, through applications such as Adobe Scan or Notebloc, Smart Pen is an interesting idea, offered by Popular Science. Basically, the system consists of a writing pad with LCD, along with a traditional notebook and a stylus composed of two elements: the part with "mircodots", a kind of GPS for LCD, and the part with a special ink for paper.
Smart Pen works relatively easily. The system connects to an Android or iOS device and digitizes in real time what you write or scribble. What is on the writing pad will be transferred to your phone or tablet. To this is added the memorization and transfer of voice notes.
Smart Pen deserves its adjective
The stylus that is part of the Smart Pen works on a "microdots" technology, similar to a GPS. Once you start writing on the LCD pad, the system recognizes your handwriting and language (from a selection of 71 languages) and transfers everything to your phone. The writing paper works the same way, only you have to be careful to change the stylus head by connecting the appropriate accessory.
The notes can be kept offline on the Smart Pen, the gadget having an autonomy of 8 hours for non-stop use. It is compatible with iOS 9.0 or later and Android 5.0 or later and Bluetooth 4.2+. It is worth mentioning the lack of compatibility with Mac and Windows. The stylus is made of aluminum, and may have blue or black "ink". The package consists of a stylus, with paper ink reserves and plastic heads for the LCD pad, along with a leather cover that protects the screen and gives it an elegant, agenda-like look.
