Philips introduces the first monitor in the arsenal that has a new generation of USB connectivity, fast and versatile.
The new USB Type C promises to be the only interface users will need for easy use with a single cable that will allow them to transfer data securely at very high speeds. Users will also be able to charge their devices, connect their monitor to their phone or notebook and to the various peripherals already attached to the notebook.
Scheduled for launch this month (June 2016), the 258B6QUEB QHD is the first Philips monitor with USB Type C connectivity that MMD is launching.
The monitor supports a transfer rate of up to 10 Gbps (or 1,280 MB / s) via Gen-2 USB 3.1 and up to 5 Gbps via Gen-1 USB 3.0. USB 3.1 is twenty times faster than USB 2.0; for example, a 4K movie can be transferred in less than 60 seconds. The slim profile of the connector makes it suitable for both ultra-portable devices and notebooks. The orientation of the plug is reversible, providing even more comfort in terms of accessibility. The video alternatives are also varied, as the monitor comes with HDMI, DisplayPort 1.2, DVI and VGA ports.
"Currently, the efficiency of connectivity plays an important role in maintaining people's productivity. Thus, we are pleased to offer users this new 25-inch monitor with the latest and greatest USB connectivity on the market. The USB Type C connection allows users to charge their notebooks via the monitor, eliminating the need for additional power cords. All connections - data, power and video go through a single cable, ”said Albert Ulfmann, product manager (monitor) of Philips Europe at MMD.
The connection mode is just one of the reasons why the 25-inch QHD monitor is a perfect choice for professionals. In addition to the connectivity mentioned, it has many of the outstanding features that have built the solid market reputation of the Philips brand: SmartErgoBase, which allows users to tilt, rotate and raise the screen to get the best possible position - ideal for maintaining health in place for work. Also, the stand hides the cables without letting them run in a messy way on the desk. The very narrow frame of the monitor gives a completely unitary appearance, offering more space for the viewing area and generating less distraction.
The new Philips 258B6QUEB QHD model will be available in specialty stores starting in June at a price of - 1,799 lei.
