Yahoo Messenger will be shut down on July 17, but the company as a whole is still not dying. So it's launching a good new mail application even on the web.
Yahoo, now integrated into Verizon's Oath, still has a somewhat popular email service. It also manages to keep up with the latest in the world of applications, so it launches a new Yahoo Mail. The idea is to optimize for Android Go and the web.
Yahoo claims that almost 228 million people use its mail service, with 26 billion emails sent daily. By comparison, Google has about 1.4 billion users. Yes, the difference is huge, but over 200 million users are not few.
With the new Yahoo Mail, it is optimized for phones integrated in Android One, meaning they have weaker hardware, but benefit from applications that run well. Google has a few, Uber has announced a version for this platform and now Yahoo is trying to win over users in India and other poor countries.
The new Yahoo Mail includes several features already present in other applications, such as swipe to delete or archive and a more intuitive menu to navigate between folders. At the same time, you should have the same user experience on the web and in the application. In addition, there is an automatic typing feature based on application suggestions. Sure, it works better in English than in Romanian, for example, but it's useful.
You have homework, too, if you want something like that, and you can set a dark mood if you prefer. And the web version account can be set on the main screen with a shortcut. There are also some optimizations made, such as low RAM consumption, but also occupying a smaller space on the phone.
Last but not least, Android Go supports multiple accounts, and you can set themes for each one. And yes, you can add GIFs to emails, something you should enjoy.
