iOS 13 will be released this evening, most likely at 20:00 by the Apple company, but probably some of you are wondering how you should prepare for installing the new version of the operating system. iOS 13 is offered by Apple for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch starting today, the update being an extremely important one, so it's good to prepare yourself properly for the news that will be offered.
iOS 13 is now compatible with a smaller number of iDevices compared to iOS 13, Apple having several dozen models compatible with the new version of its operating system this year. iOS 13 is a major update, with Apple announcing very big improvements for performance, including battery life, so the user experience will be much better than in the past, at least theoretically.
iOS 13: READ THIS BEFORE Installing on iPhone and iPad
iOS 13 must NOT be installed on iPhone or iPad, without first making a backup using iCloud or iTunes, in order to be make sure you don't lose data in case of problems. In the past there have been various issues with iOS updates that locked up the iPhone or iPad during installation and required a restore to complete the process, so a backup can save you a lot of hassle.

There you also have options for what you want to be saved in that backup, you can choose what you are interested in saving, so you will also know what you will be able to find in the phones in case you have to use the backup if the installation procedure of iOS 13 fails.
To install iOS 13, you can back up the data from your phones and through iTunes, but first you have to connect your iPhone or iPad to the computer. After that, click on the icon of your iDevice in the upper part of iTunes, and in the central menu you will have the option to make a local backup in the computer, or directly in iCloud, any of the options being good if you encounter problems when installing iOS 13.
iOS 13 might force you to delete all data from your iPhone or iPad, so apart from the backup, I recommend you save your photos and videos on a computer, because if you don't use iCloud Photo Library, iCloud Photo Library , then they will be deleted in case of restore.
How much space is needed? A LOT!
iOS 13 will require up to 3-5 GB of free space to install on iPhone and iPad, so make sure you have it on your iDevices. On the iPhone XS Max, iOS 13 required a minimum of 4 GB of space to install, but in the case of other iPhone models, especially those with smaller screens, the amount of space required for installation will be less, but it will not I can say exactly how many hundreds of MB.
iOS 13 for iPad Pro 12.9 inch might need 5 GB of space, or even more, for installation, so it's good to have it available.
