I don't know if you know, but DxOMark isn't just about camera tests. The French have also specialized in the last 2 years on acoustic and display tests and have started publishing rankings with phones in those categories as well. Personally, I'd rather take a DisplayMate analysis for screens as a benchmark, but let's see what DxO said about the Huawei P50 Pro.
First of all I want to draw your attention to this article, in which I analyzed the camera tests done by DxOMark on the new Huawei flagship. He now dominates the French charts, he is just one point above the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. Returning to the screen world, the Huawei P50 Pro received 93 points in the DxOMark test for its screen, a 6.6-inch OLED, with a resolution of 2700 x 1228 pixels, with 1 billion displayed colors and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
With this score, it surpasses the Galaxy S21 Ultra by 2 points, and the OnePlus 9 Pro by 4 points. iPhone 12 Pro Max is 5 points behind. Criteria tested by the French include readability, color, video, motion, touch and artifacts. The tests showed a significant jump in video experience compared to the Huawei P40 Pro and an overall excellent performance. You can only walk in 2 areas: the brightness outside and the blending artifacts. The HDR viewing experience is satisfactory, the response to touches is fast and accurate and the flicker is almost completely absent.
Gamers should be aware, however, that DxO has also found frame drops during gameplay. All the details and analysis can be found here. With any luck, we'll get our hands on such a phone for testing by September.
