Facebook is known for not doing enough to limit misinformation and hate speech on the platform. Now, a long list of companies have decided to "punish" her and stop investing in ads on this platform.
Several companies have decided not to post ads on the social network due to the lack of measures regarding the removal of posts that promote hate speech, incite violence and those that spread misinformation.
The companies cite as one of the reasons and the far too lenient attitude towards the recent posts of Donald Trump. In June, Mark Zuckerberg refused to take action following a post inciting violence against the US president in connection with protests in the United States over the death of George Floyd. The companies merged under the hashtag #StopHateForProfit.
