The Cluj-based company Digitap has developed a unique play-to-earn platform in the world, where anyone can play very simple games on their phone and earn digital coins, but not only.
Cluj puts Romania on the global crypto-gaming map. WAM, a platform unique in the world and accessible to anyone, developed by ClujTwo entrepreneurs from Cluj-Napoca, Daniel Tămas and Alex Rus, the founders of the Digitap company, together with a team of professionals, developed the first platform in play-to-earn multi-game casual and hypercasual world called WAM.app where users compete in tournaments and win crypto prizes such as WAM Coins or NFTs.
WAM Coin is a coin created by Digitap for this platform, which users can use to participate in tournaments.
To understand the WAM.app universe and learn more about this revolutionary application, monitorulcj.ro got in touch with Daniel Tămas, CEO and co-founder of Digitap.
Why is the WAM application revolutionary?
Until now, the use of cryptocurrencies was more restricted and easily accessible only to people who were passionate or specialized in this field. But with the WAM.app, many more people will be able to take advantage of the crypto universe in an easy and fun way, through very simple games:
“The purpose of the platform from the beginning was to allow users to compete on very simple games. Why? Because no one has the patience and time to play very complicated games or invest in very expensive devices. Very complicated games are generally only played by addicted gamers. Instead, everyone is getting into casual games like Candy Crush. Ours are even simpler than Candy Crush, and the focus and emphasis is on the game mechanics. For example, in the game you hit the ball into the wall or a knife into a target. It's things focused on mechanics and score. This is where the element of competitiveness comes in: why play alone, against yourself, when you can play against other people for the performance of increasing the score", Daniel Tămas told monitorulcj.ro.
The two people from Cluj wanted to access a market that was "somewhat closed" and managed to create something revolutionary:
"The crypto market only started to touch the gaming part properly this year. That's why it's also called GameFi, financial game. We are revolutionizing it because through WAM.app we facilitate access to crypto without focusing on crypto. That is, people can play and earn WAM tokens which they can later sell in a stable coin, on a centralized or decentralized exchange, and put the money in their pocket without having to understand how the cryptocurrency itself or the technology works . We are revolutionizing the market because we are the first platform in the world that approached these games in the form of tournaments in the interface we have", said Daniel Tămaș.
Combination of TikTok, Roblox and Arcade games
The entrepreneur from Cluj expects that in a little while they will no longer be the only ones on the market with such a product, such as the WAM.app application, because things are moving at an extremely fast pace both in crypto and in the field games, but it is certain that they were the first to revolutionize the market in this way.
The app they developed is now accessible to anyone, because to enter the WAM.app universe you don't need to have an extraordinarily high knowledge of crypto: "I would even say that you can not be curious about technical knowledge, but however, you can use WAM and enter tournaments", says Daniel Tămaș.
The co-founder also tells us that the WAM universe was created through a "marriage" between TikTok, Roblox and Arcade games from the 80s:
"We made a "marriage" between TikTok, Roblox and Arcade games. We made a Global Arcade Platform that has a similar interface to TikTok and similar development and product principles to Roblox. We give access to other game studios to publish new games and make money.”
“WAM 2 EARN”, an innovative feature
One feature of the application developed by Digitap is “WAM 2 EARN”, which in turn contains other features. Daniel Tămaș explained each of them separately, in a way that everyone could understand.
The first of them is "play-to-earn" - users can earn money simply by playing games and participating in tournaments: "Play-to-earn is relatively simple: as a user you enter, you buy WAM coins with which you pay a fee in a tournament. If you're good in the tournament and you get 1st place you get much bigger rewards than the fee you paid."
The second is "own-to-earn" and allows users to become owners of NFTs that they can profit from: "Users can own NFTs to be sold by developers or us as a platform. That way, whoever has a larger collection of NFTs, in addition to having recurring income from them, can sell them at a later time for a higher price.”
The third is "promote-to-earn" with which users can profit from their marketing skills: "Today if you want to promote as a marketer a piece of digital content you have very little chance to go to the one who developed the product and be able to make a commercial hill for beneficial promotion in a timely manner. I mean, I promote with my own money, but I need 10% of the sales, and on the other hand, I need to be assured that the users I refer actually make real sales for me. So far there is a lack of trust due to the technological inability to properly mediate the relationship between these two actors. We said: the blockchain is very clever and can make things transparent and simple.
How do we enable a marketer to promote? Very simple! We already know what it means to send traffic, track traffic and distribute income from traffic on a certain IP. We thought that we can give all this in the form of market-to-earn to anyone who wants it, without the need for a physical contract. In very simple terms, if you want to promote a tournament on WAM, you will take a URL from your marketer account and send traffic to that URL. All users who enter that will be tagged in our system and the moment they buy, pay fees, trade in markets, buy and sell NFTs, make any transfer of value, the sender that user also receives part of the revenue."
And the last one, "develop-to-earn", will give the user the necessary tools to build their own game and sell it: "Independent game studios who want to make money other than by publishing games on Apple and on Google they will be able to publish games with us next year. We will tokenize the new games. Tokenizing games means, say, identifying a game on the blockchain. You as a developer can sell an NFT that represents this tokenized game. This NFT will have some functionality: the developer can sell 100% of the NFT or less to the community - to one person or to more people. That way, whoever owns this NFT will make recurring money from the tournaments that run on that game from the fees we collect."
What is the future of the WAM universe?
Cluj people from Digitap already have a vision made for the year 2022, and among the wishes they have is to increase the team. Considering the scale of the project, Daniel Tamaș says there is a need to hire.
"The very, very near future will be listing on several exchanges, that depends on the business strategy, but a strategy for the product will be the integration of the blockchain in January and recruitment to increase our team. Basically, we also want to increase infrastructure", said Daniel Tămaș.
The WAM Coin digital currency developed by the Digitap company entered trading on the Gate and Pancakeswap exchange platforms on Monday, December 21, and in the first 24 hours recorded total volumes of over 9.8 million dollars.
Also, at the "Mobile Games Awards 2021" International Gala, Wam.app was among the finalists in the "Most Innovative Brand" category. It was alongside some of the most established players in the industry, such as Huawei or Niantic.
