Google now delivers a new update for the YouTube app, for both Android and iOS.In the past I received the opportunity to track 4K quality clips even if we don't have a 4K screen phone (details here). The new update focuses on settings and arranging them, according to GSM Arena.Specifically, the application puts in front of the options for saving mobile data.We have details below.
The last option is "Advanced", and from here we will be able to choose the resolution now.Nothing changed here, we can still run 4K videos, even if the hardware does not allow us.We cannot set a standard resolution here.In order to set the resolution and standard quality on both mobile and wifi data, we will have to go to the YouTube settings, in the "Video Quality Preferences / Quality Video" section.
This would be largely the update that is delivered in waves, server-side.Therefore, it is not an available update in the Play Store, it will be available in the first phase for a small number of users. We do not know exactly why Google added another step to be taken until the resolution is choosing. We only suspect that through new options, inexperienced users will easier understand how they can save mobile data.
