Qualcomm has announced a new fast charging technology this week, Quick Charge 5, which will be found on future phones with High End Snapdragon processors. The jump is meant to Quick Charge 4, and now we have a power supply at 100W+, all while the battery is held with 10 degrees Celsius cooler and the charging is 70% more efficient.
According to Qualcomm tests, a 4500 mAh battery can be charged from zero to 50% in just 5 minutes.A complete battery charge is done in 15 minutes and again reminds the solution of a two -cell battery that simultaneously charges the two 2250 mAh cells using an increased voltage.I mentioned "again" because when Oppo and Vivo presented their own 120W+Quick Charge solutions, all two cell demos used.
Quick Charge 5 support loaders will have to support output voltage between 3.3 volts and 20 minimum volts, 3.3A or 5A, or even over 5A for larger loaders. The new technology is made by standard USB Power Delivery PPS and is compatible with older terminals, from iPhone 7.
There are 8 levels of protection at the voltage level, 3 levels of overload protection, 3 levels of thermal protection, 3 timer protection and over -voltage protection. The first QC5 phones will arrive in quarter 3. Snapdragon 865+ and 865 processors already support technology, but this does not guarantee that current phones will be able to use it, because a new chip is needed.
