The OnePlus Nord N20 5 is going to add to the confusion of users already forced to choose between the OnePlus Nord 2 5G series and the Nord N200 5G model. Expected early next year, the N20 comes with a lower price and a design that borrows some elements from the competition.
Although not exactly a true copy after the iPhone 13, the OnePlus Nord N20 5G certainly borrowed something from its signature. We thus find the side frame with beveled edges and the perfectly flat back, probably inspired by the iPhone 12. Instead, the size and appearance of the decorations applied to the camera are more reminiscent of the iPhone 13. But they are applied directly to the cover of the phone, the Chinese manufacturer thus avoiding a possible lawsuit with Apple.
In contrast, viewed from the front, the Nord N20 5G looks just like any Android phone, with the camera punch applied to the left corner dispelling any illusions of Apple association. Perhaps the N20 would have passed as a more expensive phone, if the prominent "chin" of the screen did not betray its inclusion in the entry-level or mid-range range. Unlike the following Galaxy A models, the Nord N20 5G still offers the 3.5mm jack headphone connector.
The preliminary list of specifications mentions a 6.43-inch AMOLED screen, much higher than the one found on the OnePlus Nord N10 model. The triple-camera configuration has as its central element the main 48MP sensor, assisted by two sensors of 2MP each.
Depending on the region, the N20 could also be launched as the OnePlus Nord CE2 5G, adding to the confusion already surrounding Nord-branded products.
